Who are we? What are we trying to do?

- Hi our names are Naty B. and Margui from Mr.Hide`s class and we will be posting all of our knowlege about global warming.

- Hiya guys, this is Dustin from Mr. Fisher's class in Snow Lake, the other person in our group Tyler, is sick today, but I am going to right all I know about global warming.

- Hi! Our names are Naty B and Margui from Mr.Hide`s class, We want to know what do you think about our message? How can we make this documentary better? Our message is that we should do a plan with solutions in wich people really understand the damage that global warming can cause to us if we don’t stop it.

Facts About Global Warming

- Climate change could result in extinction up to 1 million animals of the next 50 years.

- Global warming could fundamentally alter 1/3 of plants and animals habitats by the end of the century.

- Due to global warming, the nesting patterns of birds are being destroyed.

- Species are loosing homes.

- Carbon dioxide emissions are now around 12 times higher than in 1900.

- An increase in global temperatures can in turn cause other changes, including a rising sea level and changes in the amount and pattern of precipitation.

- Global average near-surface atmospheric temperature rose 0.74 ± 0.18 °Celsius (1.3 ± 0.32 °Fahrenheit) in the last century.

- The major natural greenhouse gases are water vapor which causes about 36-70% of the greenhouse effect (not including clouds); carbon dioxide, which causes 9 - 26%; methane, which causes 4-9%, and ozone, which causes 3-7%.

- Global warming is expected to affect the number and magnitude of these events. However, it is difficult to connect particular events to global warming.

- Greenhouse gases are released by activities such as the burning of fossil fuels, land clearing, and agriculture.

Hey, there. Nice job on organizing all of this stuff. Anyways, here are some more facts and figures on global warming.

-Globally, the sea has risen 4 to 8 inches in 100 years

-Arctic sea ice shrinks by 9% percent every decade

-By the end of the century, scientists predict that half of the Artic's sea ice will be gone and that the area will also warm about 4 to 7 degrees Celsius.

-The ten hottest years ever recorded have occured since 1990

-Without the Greenhouse Effect, there would be no life on Earth. However, when it's temperture rises, it can be more of a form of death than life.

-Glaciers are quickly disappearing throughout the entire world

-The oceans cover 71% of the world's surface, and warm accordingly to the Greenhouse Effect, although it takes a long time to heat the entire mass that is the ocean, and when water warms, it expands

-Even if we stop now, the amount of C02 in the air will continue expanding the seas and oceans for centuries to come.

-Some people believe that global warming is a fraud that doesn't exist.

Global warming is very dangerous and that it is mostly form by the factories, buses, cars, and motos that are in the cities. Also because global warming is destroying the ozone layer and that is very important and memorable. Not only the ozone, there is also the pole will melt and if they melt the water reserves would finish and it would cause inundations because of the water excess. And in places where there is no excess of water they would die because of the excess of hotness and any water. Fires would be intense and they will destroy all the forests, heavy snowfalls would destroy homes and other things, flooding would kill many people, heat waves and periods of unusually warm weather would kill people because of the excess of hotness, ocean warming would cause the death of fish and other creatures of the ocean, sea-level rise, coastal flooding, glaciers melting, Artic and Antarctic warming, spreading disease would kill like mostly all people, earlier spring arrival, plant and animal range shifts and population changes. Those are the important things that I learned from my father and the page, how dangerous global warming it is and it would be.

Nick: Wow, nice job on summing everything up. You've really hit it. Anyway, using this info and some additional info I'm going to post in here, I'll start created drafts of poems (since I'm in Mr.R's class and we do the poetic part of the project) so you guys can read them and tell me what you think and what you guys want to change.

The picture next to this one is just the basic representation of the Greenhouse Effect and how it happens.

This image shows the mean temperatures of the world between the years 1995 to 2004.

This image shows a glacier melting, due to global warming. As you can tell from the melting ice, there will be a higher water level, which means flooding in some areas.

Our Opinions

Our opinions of this issue of global warming are that it was interesting because we have never think of that because usually we think of other things. Also because is something that  is happening right now and that is going to affect our future. Not on info is important to me. Is important because it teach many people that the humans are the ones who are causing this big isly we are going to talk about my opinion also about how thatsue that is affecting not only the countries but also the health of many people. Because of the use of many factories, smoking, cars, and other things that have to do with this issue, that go up to the ozone that’s why we are responsible to stop it and to not do that many times as we do. Like parents who go to school to pick up their child, they can tell to other person that is going to pick up his/her child too, to pick up the child their child. Factories that work the same thing but there are like thousands of it! And the wordiest thing is smoking, if people would stop smoking that will be very good to the environment and to the health of people. Well I wish you liked my opinions and what I learned from this issue.
