These are some great picture of what bulimia involves, here you can have some idea of what is bulimia and the people acts that they have with bulimia, you can see people binging which is when people eats large amounts of food and people purging that it when the people throw up all the food, these are the 2 main acts that people with bulimia do which really damages a lot your body.

Bulimia is a eating disorder that usually occurs because people, specially teens, want to be thin and they are never happy with their bodies. Don't you think that there are different ways of being thin and having a healthy body instead of binge eating and purging? I do, I think that you can have healthy diets that can help you be thin instead of being bulimic and ruining many parts of your body like your teeth and many other things could be damage in many ways and not only in your body because usually people with bulimia use drugs and drugs are not easy lo leave so its better not to be bulimic and having a good body doing diets and trying not to eat too much!
http://www.sxc.hu/photo/447541 Bulimia really brings you a lot of problems, beside drugs bulimic people also have other problems. Bulimia damages your esophagus, which is a organ in your vertebrates, all the food that you it passes through this muscular tube that goes from your mouth to your stomach. This is very bad because the esophagus is a very important part of your body. Those laxatives and pills that bulimic people use exesively also damage your body.
http://imageafter.com//image.php?image=b11nature_characters_humanparts000.jpg Bulimia also damages your teeth because each time that you purge the acids of your stomach damages all your teeth. You have an irregular heart beat and your muscles get weaker. Probably your blood vessels can also broke.
http://morguefile.com/archive/?display=145200 People with bulimia are usually very dizzy and not stable. You also have a lot hair loss. All the time you are depressed and because of your depression is that those bulimic people get into drugs. Your kidney and liver damage. These are some of the problems that bulimia brings you, so its really better not to be bulimic and find other ways to be thin and having a healthy body than binging and purging.
http://www.sxc.hu/photo/730083 Okay, so know that you already know what are the symptoms that bulimia brings you, I would like to show you a story about a girl that has been through bulimia. She called her story "Bulimia and Me".

http://www.flickr.com/photos/18382722@N00/123101580/

"From the young age of 5 I was involved in many sports, when I joined the high school gymnastic team I knew it would be totally different then the rec gymnastics I was use to, But I loved it.
http://www.sxc.hu/photo/434682

The sport became the center of my struggle with bulimia. When I entered high school I got into gymnastics.

http://www.sxc.hu/photo/630836 It all began when my practice schedule was from 2:30 till 6 which we leave me to come home and have dinner like I had done for years, But the difference was I worked so hard at practice that when I came home and at my plate full of dinner which it made me sick.
http://flickr.com/photos/belljar/6010926/

I decided one night I wasn't going to let this food stay in me. I went upstairs after I ate to take my shower and before I got in I stood over the toilet and threw my finger in my throat. It was gross, I hated it and vowed never to do it again. It wasn't till the next night that I found myself doing it all over again. I didn't do this ever night, but the nights I didn't do it I made sure I didn't eat."

http://morguefile.com/archive/?display=101218
This is the sad story that this girl had shared with all the people. Don't you think this is really sad? Why to get in bulimia if we don't have too, really there is no need for that. Do you think that your problems with this eating disorder are only affecting you? you are  wrong if you think that your problem not affects your family. Yes, bulimia affects you the most because you are the one with the problem and you are the one with the symptoms, but bulimia do affect your family a lot!
http://morguefile.com/archive/?display=27957 Bulimia affects your family, especially because they  see you with the problem. You are very thin and not healthy at all. They suffer seeing you in that way and they think really they cant do anything because they cannot get you that obsession with being thin out of your mind. The only thing they can do is take you to a doctor or a place were they can help you. But really it is very difficult for them seeing that you are ruining your life with this problem and they cant do anything for you.
http://www.sxc.hu/photo/558236 Bulimia has many risks beside the symptoms. One of the risks that bulimia brings you is Psycological. You can suffer psycological effects with bulimia. Pshycological effects brings you depression, anxiety, perfectionism, substance abuse, and obsessive compulsive disorder. You can also suffer traumas. Traumas can bring you physical or sexual abuse. Dieting is is very bad because it can also make you binge, that is when you eat large amounts of food like I already told you. This are some of the terrible risks that bulimia brings you.
http://www.sxc.hu/photo/391477 Bulimia can also have many different treatments. The more common treatments of bulimia are: psychotherapy which involves, Cognitive behavior therapy, behavior therapy, family therapy, marital therapy, and group therapy. This are some types of therapies that might help you recover from bulimia. Other types of treatments are Medical care and monitoring, Nutritional counseling, Medications, and Impatient Treatment Centers which can also help you recover form this terrible eating disorders. Although there are many types of therapies that can help you recover, recovering from bulimia is very difficult because it is very hard to get that obsession with being thin out of your mind. And also if you have the privilege from recovering it might take some time.

 http://morguefile.com/archive/?display=156284

You might think that bulimia is only purging and binge eating, but really is not only that. There are two types of bulimia, one of them is the one where you binge eat and then throw up all the food that you had it and then is like if you havent ate nothing. The other type of bulimia is the nonpurging type. This type of bulimia requires nonpurging but instead you try not to eat too much and also requires lots of exercise. This are the two types of bulimia.
http://morguefile.com/archive/?display=47873 Bulimia is different than anorexia because anorexia is mostly a mental problem that the person cannot get out of their minds becuase when they see themselves at the mirror they look fat, when they are really desapearing.

I espect that you had understand all the bad things that bulimia brings you, specially all those bad symtoms and medical complications that are really bad for yourselves  so I think that is much better that we stay how we are and never reject our bodies beause rejecting our bodies is the baddest thing we can do, we have to accept ourselves how we are. So better start doing diets and exercise. I hope that this information was enough for you to know that we must not get into bulimia!

  The Factory of numbness

What pride in a factory of sufferance
Consuming, rejecting
Numbness
Taste is bliss
A cycle of lies and pain
That deepens like a wound every time…

The mirror is a reflection of your desire
The need created by lies and controversy
But the cycle remains
Like a spinning wheel
Never to stop
Until it is healed

Inside you crave for love,
But truly
You have become blindfolded,
By a vicious tissue of influence and wrongness
But you are numb and immune to all that is right
So like a zombie, lost in illusions, you linger…

Perhaps the consecration of reality is stronger,
And the factory of pain has ceased
The mirror is clean and the words are true
Unique
Beautiful
Forever

Bulimia
Bulimia
Action loved
Enjoying the suffer of
Losing the sense of taste
Irregular heart beats
Depression
Teeth shattering
Chaos of your intestine
Losing weight, appearance, the only care
Stupidity shown as fancy in their mind
Confusion of wanting to eat and lose weight
Dreaming that they could change the pattern of the world
Stuck in the dream of being a super model
Mirror the only reason you use your eyes
Fat is death
Brainless of you
Beauty will fade as time flows
Unstoppable truth
Listen and take in
Beauty not important of life
You are a gift
More and more you act like this
More and more you make a fool out of you
Understand that every piece of your cell is breath taking
Close your eyes, imagine feel of the stupidity leaving
No matter what
You look gorgeous to me
Hello fellow students who are working on this project. My name is Daniel and I go to school in Malaysia. Above is a poem that I wrote relating to this subject. The poem is a rough draft; thus, I will be extremely pleased if you leave comments of my poem to enhance it to a higher level. At first I thought Bulimia was a name of a country; however, because of your detailed and descriptive reports of this matter, I was able to understand and learn of what is happening everyday while I sit and play around. I am greatly pleased to work with you. As time goes I will try to write more poems and find more pictures relating to this topic. Thank You
-Daniel,
I think that you did really good on your poem. I think that you should keep the poem like that or make it a little bit longer.  It really described bulimia and it had some really strong words. Good Job on the poem. I can't wait to read your final draft!
Mary Hughes/Mr.Fishers Class
-Hey Daniel,

The message that I want to give people about Bulimia is specially that I want to get them concerned that bulimia is a very bad eating disorder and each day it's damaging and killing lots of people and specially women and teenagers. I want to make them know that bulimia should stop and that there are many ways of being thin and having a good and a healthy body, instead of binge eating and then purging which could kills you and damages also other parts of your body like your teeth and brings you many other problems.

The first thing that I want to show and explain in my documentary is What is Bulimia, I want to explain everyone the things that I had understand and make sure that they know what is bulimia. Then, I want to explain each one of the bulimia signs and symptoms, to make sure that they know the bad signs and symptoms that bulimia have. When I finish explaining the Bulimia signs and symptoms I would like to show stories about people that has suffered with bulimia or that sometime had it and show pictures with people with bulimia that shows how bad they look. Then I would like to talk about the physical and medical complications about bulimia. When I finish with the medical complications I would start talking about other ways of being thin and ways to have a healthy body and a good shape. At last, I would like to said to the people why should bulimia stop and make sure that my documentary and explanations had make concerned people of how bad is bulimia and the consequences that you could have, I really want to make them be sure that it's better not  get involved into bulimia.

I want to get more involved and to search more about the psychological effects that the people has when they have bulimia, I really want to search more about that and know about that because they said that when people gets into bulimia they start using drugs, so that people can also have worse consequences. Other thing that I would like to search more about is to understand each of the effects on bulimia but understand each one exactly to have a good documentary.

Bulimia nervosa, often called bulimia, is a type of eating disorder. A person with bulimia eats a lot of food in a short amount of time (binges) and then tries to prevent weight gain by getting rid of the food, called purging. Purging might be done by:

  • making yourself throw up
  • taking laxatives — pills or liquids that speed up the movement of food through your body and lead to a bowel movement

A person with bulimia may also exercise a lot, eat very little or not at all, or take pills to pass urine to prevent weight gain.

How does Bulimia harm you and your Family?

When you have this eating disorder it's hard to stop, you think that whatever you eat will make you very fat so you throw it all up. When you do this you are hurting yourself and your family at the same time because like anorexia, it's hard for them to see you like this. It harms you because it makes you so skinny and soon you just make yourself turn to nothing because there's nothing left of you - you've thrown everything up. It harms your family because when and if the see you like this it makes them feel like there is nothing that they can do, it's like if you don’t want help then they can't give it to you. Again like anorexia if you don’t want help then you will never get it unless you are forced into it. The reason why it’s so hard to get help is because you just want to be skinnier and skinnier because although you think you look attractive, you don't. It's gross when you can see every bone in your body and your legs and arms are the size of toothpicks. Even though you think it looks good it doesn't, it's better to have more weight than none at all.

Bulimia what is it?

Bulimia is an eating disorder that is more common in women on their 20's. People with bulimia binges eat at least two times at a week for at least 3 months. They use a lot of things to help them be thin and prevent to gain weight like laxatives, a lot of dieting, excessive amount of exercise, diuretics, and obviously vomiting. These people are never happy with their bodies; they always want to be thinner. Bulimics usually maintain a healthy weight while anorexia is often a severe loss of weight. People with bulimia usually have a puffy face; they also have swollen fingers and discolored teeth. They go to the bathroom a lot after eating to purge. Bulimia damages the digestive system and affects electrolyte balances which damages organs. The excess of purging possibly could rapture the esophagus. Bulimia causes fatigue, so then they start to eat in excess and then they purge. Bulimia also causes depression, and usually people with bulimia uses drugs. Also they have stomach pains and irregular heart rate. When you purge the stomach acids ruin your teeth, so the teeth decay. To eliminating bulimia they main thing that doctors try to do is to eliminating binging and purging. They also force the person to eat three meals a day and exercise but not excessively and treat psychological issues such as mood or anxiety disorders.

I think that bulimia is the most damaging eating disorder the same as anorexia. I think that bulimia requires a lot of help and a long treatment to help the person gain their normal weight again and healthier, but I think that the most important think to recover of bulimia is that the person wants to recover, because then they will never recover because they would not follow the things that doctors or the person that helps them said them to do. I think that if the person don’t do what they have to do to recover they would never recover so they would have serious problems like death, and I think is not fair that people dies only because they don’t like their bodies and they want to be thin. But almost all of the time people with bulimia recover faster than the people with anorexia. And anorexia is worse than bulimia because they think that they are really fat and want to be thinner each time and they are really disappearing.

How you know, bulimia is a very bad eating disorder that can have severe problems. If you don’t have a good treatment if you get on bulimia, how I said you need to have doctors, nutritionists, or any person that helps you to have a very good treatment on you. Bulimia is an eating disorder very harmful and not everyone has the opportunity to out of it, so you might not get on bulimia and start getting worried about other things like school, your health, and many other important things and not about your body shape and trying to be thin because it will harm you a lot. Well, how you know, I will be writing more about eating disorder and specially bulimia. I hope you had learned and be concerned of the consequences of bulimia. Talk you later! Bye

Wow, that's a lot of information, good job. Indeed, Bulimia is a terrible eating disorder, and to those who have chosen that path, either due to peer pressure or low self-esteem, looks back and tries to visualize what is really important in life. Now this is from an aspect that has never witnessed or been in such a situation, but I hope this poem, (that I will be posting later) will be of some inspiration to all those who have fallen into this perilous voyage. Also, I'll try to compete with all this information you guys have written and post some pictures and other types of media. Finally, I'm quite interested in the physiological area of Bulimia and how people, even after loosing so much weight, are still persuaded that they are obese or overweight, where can this urge come from? Well, I hope that together as a team we'll learn as much as we can and turn out with a superior final product to show others how important Bulimia really is. Right here is a picture showing the different effects Bulimia can do really do to one's body.
